Anawim Housing Announces Leadership Transition

DES MOINES, IOWA — Anawim Housing announces that Cynthia Latcham, President, will be stepping down from her role after 12 years of dedicated service to the organization.

Over the past decade, Cynthia has played a pivotal role in advancing Anawim’s mission of creating safe, stable, and affordable housing for our community’s most vulnerable residents. Under Cynthia’s leadership Anawim has converted a former hotel into The Monarch Apartments, adding 40 units of Permanent Supportive Housing to the community and was awarded over $7 million in funding to complete capital improvements for existing housing.  Her leadership, passion, and vision have left an indelible mark on the organization and the many lives it serves.

Anawim Housing is the largest provider of permanent supportive housing in the state of Iowa, managing 306 housing units. Our Permanent Supportive Housing programs serve individuals and families who have experienced homelessness and live with a mental illness, a substance use disorder, a physical disability, a diagnosis of HIV/AIDS, or are fleeing domestic violence.
