Anawim Housing Program Receives Lift From Community Leaders

In Fall of 2019, Anawim Housing was honored to learn that we were selected as one of five class projects for the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute's 2020 Community Leadership Program. By being selected, Anawim Housing has served as a learning lab for 10 participants committed to building their leadership skills throughout the duration of 7 months. Our GDMLI team has made it their focus to help us address the sustainability of our Full Circle peer support group and ensure the benefits of Full Circle are accessible to even more of the people we serve. Over the past several months, team members have conducted numerous interviews with program participants, board members, staff, etc. To learn more about the Greater Des Moines Leadership Program, click here.

Project Update: As our project with the GDMLI team nears the half way point, and while we still have several more months to go, we wanted to share a project update: We recently caught up with them as they shared a prototype of their project. They are using methods of design thinking to help us sustain and grow our Full Circle group. We're excited to collaborate with these innovative community leaders to continue developing a safe place for tenants in our Permanent Supportive Housing programs to build community and support each other.
